East Valley Fire Department, also known as Yakima County Fire District #4, serves the residents of Terrace Heights, Moxee and all the area east of the Yakima River to mile marker 30 approximately at the intersection of SR 24 and SR 241 (an area also known as Blackrock). The district as a whole encompasses approximately 165 square miles.

The Department is bordered on the West by the Cities of Yakima and Union Gap (Yakima Fire Department), to the north by the City of Selah (Selah Fire Department) and the Yakima Army Training Center (Training Center Fire Department) and also to the south by Yakima County Fire District #5 (Lower Valley Fire Department). 

East Valley Fire Department currently maintains 3 fire stations throughout our coverage area, one of which we use as a volunteer response station. We are a combination department staffed by 15 career firefighters and 4 administrative staff made up of the Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief, District Secretary and the Administrative Assistant. in addition to the full time staff we have 12 Volunteers to provide the best services possible to the approximately 23,000+ residents and other users of our coverage area. In 2023 the Department as a whole responded to 1,690 Incidents of varying types.

Our Department considers itself a progressive agency that is always looking to provide the best possible service for the least amount of cost to our tax payers.
